As far as I know, only the use of sugar, but what can you add?

Tablet is an original Scottish confectionery. There are a number of variations on the recipe and procedure. Some lose step 6 and then enter the pill showed a smooth surface instead of gross (and authentic) texture and appearance here.
Ingredients:
(For two)
"500g/18oz/2 cups granulated sugar.
"60g/2oz/one quarter cup butter.
3 ½ tablespoons condensed milk.
»170ml / 6 FLOZ / three quarters cup of water.
Method:
1. Grease a pan.
2. Mix all ingredients in a large saucepan and heat, until butter has melted and sugar is dissolved.
3. Bring bring mixture to a boil. It is important to stop stirring at this point if the mixture does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
4. Bring the mixture to boil for about 10 minutes. The mixture should be thick and the color went from white to caramel.
5. Remove the pan from the kitchen and placed in a heating surface for about 5 minutes.
6. After 5 minutes, which beat tMixture very hard. Begin to define at this point.
7. Fill before sunset mix with a wooden spoon to the prepared pan, transfer. They are in this series can be found almost immediately.
8. Previously it was all chopped Bitesize shelf and let it cool and cured for 5 minutes.
9. Take the pieces of the box and store in an airtight container.
